Breakfast and Black Belts

It’s finally December!  This morning, loaded the kids up and headed to our alma mater for their annual Santa Breakfast.  It’s always fun to see friends we graduated with along with the kids’ friends from school.  Sophie was so excited to go this year – no tears for Santa this year!

We made some crafts before sitting down to have breakfast.  Sophie had to sit with her best friend, Lukey.  Luke’s mom and I went to school together and teach together, and Sophie and Luke go to the same babysitter.  Sophie calls him “my Lukey”.  So cute!

One fun thing about Providence’s Santa Breakfast is seeing some of the kids I taught as first graders all grown up and entertaining the little ones!

Of course, the highlight of the whole event is seeing Santa.  They were in deep conversation with the man in red about what they wanted.

After breakfast, Andrew headed to TaeKwonDo for testing.  Although there were lots of students testing for various levels, only he and one other person were testing for their black belt.  Andrew took two attempts to break his board, but other than that he didn’t really struggle.  Such a change from other times!  His confidence has grown so much since he started five years ago and we are immensely proud of him.  What an accomplishment!  Andrew will get a entire blog post of his own on Thursday after his awards!

Andrew and PK – black belts at last!!!

What an exciting weekend we’ve had!  To top it off, Tony hung Christmas lights on the outside of the house.  We’re ready for Christmas this year!
